Invitation to Change:

Family Skills and Support Group

This group is for family members and friends who have a loved one who is struggling with substance use. Invitation to Change is a framework based in science and kindness that provides skills that will help you stay connected with your loved one while creating an environment supportive of change. As you develop new ways of helping your loved one, you will also learn new skills for taking care of yourself, all within a supportive group setting.

Topics from the ITC Approach include:
● How to understand your loved one’s behavior
● What makes someone decide to change?
● What if they don’t want to change?
● Figuring out what will work for your loved one
● How do I talk to them about substance use?
● Practical tools for encouraging change
● Taking care of yourself on this journey
● How to stay connected when things are hard

We focus on a new set of skills each session and complete the full set in about 12 sessions. You are welcome to attend all 12 sessions and then continue with the group. Registration is ongoing, and you can join at any time.

After you submit the registration form, you will receive an orientation email with additional information.
